Wiki HealthCon 2025

Will be attending and for the first time. Is April 6th, the first day a full day and does it end on a full day? Are rooms available for booking with AAPC now? Are you able to use the Disney transportation from airport to resort? Thanks

I would wait for them to post room block where you get a discount. It might be more costly without using the discount they get.

I am attending by myself and won't get the room rate , just found that out. It's only for groups. Thanks for the input.

It is for the AAPC group. If you are attending, you are part of that group. I say that because I use the link to get my room, I attend by myself, and I get that rate. Just got my room for regionals at the group rate. Do you mind if I ask who told you that you would not qualify for it? Maybe something is changing for Healthcon next year that I am not aware of.

I talked to the reservations at the resort in Disney

I also just talked to the AAPC and no group rates apply for Orlando, 2025 for individuals. Possibly through your company you will get one.

Orlando, Las Vegas, PA; unfortunately, never in New York
AAPC has contracts with certain large hotel groups and has to schedule conferences within those venues. I do expect to see some variety in the future years, though.

Additionally, with the National HealthCon, several things come into play.... a location that is able to accommodate at least 2000 people, dozens of speakers and can manage to feed/house everyone with minimal drama. That eliminates some smaller cities that don't have large hotels or conference centers. Also, the city needs to be near an airport that doesn't require multiple layovers to get to. So although Portland Maine is my town, you can't get here from anywhere without going through Baltimore or NY. The city has to be navigable by people who don't rent cars, and/or have the ability for multiple forms of public transportation. Lastly, AAPC tries to schedule the national conferences in places where attendees may want to bring family members. Disney, Nashville and Vegas draw attendees for that reason alone. What AAPC is trying to do however, is to schedule regional conferences in various cities in order to meet the needs of the members across the US. This years' regional is in San Diego. How cool is that?!
And by the way, the AAPC regional conference was in NYC in 2019, which is not 'never'!
