Our Dr. saw a pt for a nonstemi and the patient had a full echo (I bill pro fee). A few days later he did a "limited stress echo" to access low flow - low grade stenosis. I have never billed a "limited stress echo" and am unable to locate codes for this particular procedure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
For the reg stress echo I would bill
93350-26
93018
93320-26
93325-26
Thank you

I've never had a provider bill a limited stress echo, only a limited echo, but I'll give this a shot. I'm thinking 93351-52, 93321-26 (if documented and done), 93325-26 (again, if documented and done), and possibly 93352 (if documented and done) along with your Q code for the drug if contrast was used. If your facility does not include continuous EKG monitoring while doing the stress echo, then I think it would be 93350-52-26, 93018, 93321-26, 93325-26.

i would have done the same.

I am an echocardiography and I do not know how there can be a limited stress echo. There is a stress echo 93351 or 93350 depending on how your facility or office is structured. With that a provider can request pre images for screening for contraindication to a stress test. That would then be a 93308 and if color /limited doppler 93321/93325 would also be bill with the stress codes. A stress echo and a complete echo can not be done on the same day of service, unless each test has a different diagnosis. I would have to ask what is your situation that would make it a "limited" Stress echo? If you stress the patient, the stress images are taken....it is an all or nothing type of test.
