Hello,
I am currently working for a software company where I troubleshoot possible errors in coding. I noticed that in the software used for billing when I search for the ICD-10 code F50.81 the difference between the Official Name and the Local Name description lines is that the Official name contains an asterisk while the Local name does not. It's not allowing the biller to pull the code F50.81. Only F50.8 which is incorrect because this code requires 5 characters, correct? So, if F50.81 is the actual correct code, then that means the Official and Local names description boxes have to be exactly the same with no additional characters preventing it from being used, correct?
