Good Morning, I'm confused as to which thread to post this so maybe the community can help if I'm in the wrong one?
I recently started with an OBGYN practice, there are somethings I have noticed about billing and coding that are not what I was taught for the 14 years I was at my last job (that had an inside auditor and coding compliance manager to make sure we were always doing things properly). Does anyone have any resources as far as maybe getting someone to come in and audit/talk about what is correct and not correct about their processes here? It is definately a "its always been this way so it has to be right" and it's just not and I really want to make sure I am doing things correctly for the office. And communicating the correct information. For example they are billing CO-96 denials to medicaid secondary and getting them to pay, however the primary did not pay for that reason, I was always taught if the primary didn't pay that they secondary wouldn't esp medicaid since it was a CO-96.
Thank you for any and all information you can supply. I appreciate anything!
